Collegeville’s Community Park
Collegeville’s Community Park is located along Park Avenue between Third and Fourth Avenues. The approximately three-acre park is appropriate for children of all ages. The park has of a children’s playground with two play systems and a separate swing set for toddlers. It also has a full size paved basketball court, a roller hockey court and a baseball field with newly renovated dugouts. The basketball and roller hockey courts are lighted in season. The park has a pavilion picnic area.
Perkiomen Trail
The Perkiomen Trail is a 19-mile multi-use public trail for walkers, joggers, bicyclists, cross-country skiers, and equestrians. The Trail was developed and is maintained by the Montgomery County Department of Parks and links the county’s parks that are strung along the Perkiomen Creek.
The Trail passes through the Borough from the south side near Rt. 29 and Park Avenue to the north side near Rt. 29 and Ninth Avenue. In between it passes behind the two shopping centers of the Borough’s merchant district, crosses Main Street at Third Avenue and straddles the wooded ridge behind the Ursinus College campus.
Waterworks Park
This 17-acre site is located in the Borough of Trappe. It is owned and maintained jointly by the boroughs of Collegeville and Trappe. The park was purchased with a grant from the Montgomery County Open Space Program and is being developed through a grant received from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR). The site includes a baseball and a soccer field, a play system, trails, and a pavilion in a wooded stream area. Waterworks Park is also the location of annual events like Collegeville’s Colossal Yard Sale, the Memorial Day Parade Celebration, the Keystone Grange Fair and more.
Welakamike Creekside Park
Welakamike Creekside Park, whose name in Lenape means “Beautiful Place,” is a newly established public park in Collegeville, PA. It’s nestled along the Perkiomen Creek, stretching from Main Street to near the end of the Collegeville Shopping Center. The park features a boat launch, cleared creek-side walking trail, and a parking area. Picnic tables are planned to be added soon, enhancing its recreational appeal.This revitalized creekside access was made possible through collaboration between the Borough of Collegeville, Montgomery County planning bodies, conservation partners like the Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy, and private donors.
